In 1999, Mike and Barbara Jacobs started with a single truck and a humble goal to provide a stable future for their family. Today, we have a fleet representing growth and a legacy spanning 25 years. Mike Jacobs, who started it all, still takes the driver's seat—meeting customers and delivering loads with the same passion as on day one.

Mike has been around trucks his entire life, beginning his journey on the family farm where he primarily hauled cash crops and produce. Before starting Jacobs Transportation, he gained extensive experience hauling fuel, grain, and flatbed loads for other companies. There isn't much he doesn't have experience with in the trucking industry. His dedication to his work required immense sacrifices, spending long hours on the road and often weeks away from home, missing important family moments like soccer games, ballet recitals, graduations, and anniversaries. Despite these challenges, Mike's commitment to establishing and growing relationships with customers was unwavering. He built strong, personal connections with each client, ensuring that their needs were met and often exceeded. His hands-on approach and genuine care for his customers laid the foundation for long-lasting partnerships that have been crucial to our success.

As Jacobs Transportation grew, Mike also took on the role of dispatching other drivers and trucks from his own truck on the road. This multitasking demonstrated his relentless dedication and ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.

Barbara's contribution was equally significant. From 1999 to 2003, she worked two jobs. During the day, she handled dispatch, payables, and receivables at a trucking company, and in the evenings, she dedicated herself to Jacobs Transportation. She managed invoicing, government paperwork, and administrative tasks, all while raising their children and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Barbara’s tireless efforts and commitment, working late into the night and sleeping very little, were crucial to the company’s success.

It's this personal touch, the face-to-face connections, and a relentless drive for excellence that have fueled our journey from a single truck to a leading name in transportation. The combined dedication of Mike and Barbara has created a strong foundation for our company, ensuring its continued growth and success.
